Wednesday 31st May
7 - 9 PM
2c Andrews road, London, e8 4ql
Join us on the last Wednesday of the month for a serene evening with David Kam.
For this particular workshop, we will focus on scanning through the landscape of the body – tapping into the surfaces of the skin.
Each individual will be invited to trace their own movements as an ephemeral landscape created by the physical body.
We will experience an immersive session where yoga asanas become individual templates, to encourage each one of us to discover our own expression of movement.
David Kam is an international dance artist and yoga teacher. He first stepped onto the yoga mat alongside his mum, a cherished time which initiated his journey.
David offers creative vinyasa flow inspired by his background in architecture and dance. He enjoys designing the internal landscape of people’s experiences in yoga through choreographing the mindful journey between asanas across energetic layers. Empowering students to play and develop intuitive practices, embracing classes as opportunities to also forge connection by breath or partnerwork.
David ultimately wishes to share a practice which is liberating to the body, colourful in the mind and light on the heart.
Mona is a certified Gong Practitioner trained by 'The College of Sound Healing' in Devon, UK. Mona invites participants to ‘close your eyes and open your ears’, as she curates a unique experience into sound and the senses, and an exploration of ‘the listening body’. Mona will facilitate a Sound Bath with a trajectory of sounds that are designed to induce states of profound physical relaxation, meditation and general wellbeing.
In her Sound Baths the terms ‘sound’ and ‘listening’ are inclusive of sensations felt when vibrations fall onto the human body, as the Gongs are capable of setting a substantial volume of air into vibration. Laying down on mats participants will be saturated and cocooned in the live sounds of high quality Gongs and other instruments including Himalayan singing bowls, a shruti box, a sansula, chimes, rainsticks, and bamboo leaf rattles.
