Astrology and the body
thursday 20TH April
7 - 10 PM
2 Andrews Rd, London E8 4QL
Come and explore the links between astrology and the ways in which we express, act, think, feel but – most importantly – how we connect with and perceive our bodies. Each astrological sign rules different parts of our bodies, by knowing this and learning about your chart you will connect with your vital and physical energy from a new and different perspective.
You'll discover which areas of your body are strong and resilient, which ones need more attention and care, and how this relates to the map in the sky at your time of birth. Astrology & the Body aims to introduce participants into medical astrology.
The workshop will include an hour of explorative yoga with SYC's Gabrielle Hales, accompanied by a two hour in-depth focus on astrology with Madeleine Botet Lacaze.
Madeleine will prepare your chart beforehand for you to have during the workshop.
Please email the following birth details to firstname.lastname@example.org after you have purchased your ticket:
Day, Month, Year / City, Country / Exact time (from birth certificate if possible).
Madeleine Botet Lacaze
Madeleine is an Argentine-born performance artist and astrologer based in London.
She studied astrology at CASA 11 in Buenos Aires and at the Faculty of Astrological Studies in London and, without even realising, astrology became the undercurrent of her work. However, it was not until two years ago when she decided to unify her two passions: art and astrology. Her astrology practice aims to communicate and reflect upon what makes us creative and what makes us feel alive.
Madeleine believes in change and transformation, in communicating through sharing and connecting. And most of all, in our resilient body and our restless creative mind working together and allowing us to fully express ourselves.
Gabrielle started practising Iyengar yoga in 2008. She quickly fell in love with the practise and ended up leaving her job to travel round India for six months exploring different practises and teachers. She completed her teacher training in November 2012.
She has been inspired by the Jivamukti founders Shannon Gannon and David Life, and other senior teachers such as Emma Henry and Rachel Middleton. She now teaches full time and has continued her studies with Kino McGregor, David Swenson and Elena Brower.
Her classes are slow but strong flow. She likes to work on the breath and give people time to refine and explore each posture. Sequences are thoughtful and her playlists are chosen with care to complement the tone of the class.
